Sunbaked Cookie Co.'s Garage-Fridge Cookies in North Port Look Unreal
Sunbaked Cookie Co., a home bakery in North Port, runs on two mini-fridges, a cash box and neighbors who pay what the sign says. The cookies are stuffed, sprinkled, pistachio-crusted and gorgeous.
Start with the pink one. (Sunbaked Cookie Co. of North Port, remember the name.)
The Chocolate Strawberry Dubai at Sunbaked Cookie Co. is a pink cookie with crushed pistachios on top and a chocolate drizzle over the whole thing. It looks like it has a publicist. Caitlin said in a recent video that she'd made four batches that weekend and they were almost gone.
It does not stop at pink
The rest of the lineup looks just as good. There's The Floridian, stuffed with Key Lime Pie. A Brownie Stuffed Chocolate Chunk. A Nutella Stuffed Mini M&M. Double Stuffed Biscoff S'mores. Two sandwich cookies, the Toffee Coffee and the M&M Sunbaked Sammy. And a Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pop, which is a cookie with a pineapple cake pop hiding in the middle. I checked twice that I'd read that right.
There's also Birthday Cake with rainbow sprinkles. Caitlin mentioned a sprinkle shortage, so somewhere out there a person is rationing sprinkles for the good of the neighborhood, and I respect that.
According to that Sept. 27 video, the fridge held 15 flavors of cookies, two banana breads (chocolate chip and regular) and a gluten-friendly snack cake with chocolate cake and vanilla bean frosting. Cookies were $6 each and the banana breads were $14.50. Every cookie goes in a clear bag with a Sunbaked Cookie Co. label listing the ingredients and allergens.
Neighbors, a table, and a cash box
The setup is the best part. It's a table in front of a garage in North Port with two mini-fridges on it. You open one, take what you want, and pay by QR code (Venmo or Cash App) or drop cash in the box. Pre-orders wait in brown paper bags with names written on them. It runs on the idea that people are mostly decent, and it's a nice thing to learn about your neighbors on a Sunday morning.
A yoursun.com column this week points out that fridge-and-table home bakeries are popping up all over Florida, and it mentions Sunbaked Cookie Co. by name.
How to get them
- Where: a home in North Port. The exact pickup address is on the Sunbaked Cookie Co. TikTok and Instagram, so check there instead of guessing.
- When: weekends have been the pattern, but hours and menus change. Look at their latest posts before you drive over.
- Pay: QR code at the table, or cash in the box.
- Pre-orders: ask on their TikTok or Instagram page, and your order will wait in a bag with your name on it.
- Tag them: Caitlin asked people to tag Sunbaked Cookie Co. on social media, and a photo of the pink one will do the job.
Prices and flavors above are as shown in that recent video. The menu rotates, so the Dubai may be gone by the time you arrive. Go early.
