Wine
Lakewood Ranch Has 35 Wines by the Glass. Open Till Ten.
Fine Wine & Tastings on Main keeps about 35 pours on rotation and more than 300 bottles on the shelf. Saturday hours run to 10 p.m. Mix-and-match case math is posted.
Fine Wine & Tastings on Main sits at 8111 Lakewood Main Street, Unit J105, which is the sentence you get when a retail wine store and a wine bar share one lease and refuse to pick a side.
They list more than 300 bottles from around the map, plus a rotating bar list of about 35 wines by the glass each month. Local craft beer shows up in a small supporting role. Charcuterie and small plates keep the glass from looking lonely.
The pour math
Per the shop's own notes, plenty of those bottles can be tried as a 2-ounce taste or a full 5-ounce glass before you commit to taking one home. That is the polite way of saying you do not have to guess from a label written in a language you only use at airports.
Happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday, 3–6 p.m.: $2 off regularly priced 5-ounce pours, plus food specials. Saturday is not on that list. Saturday is the long shift.
Hours and the case discount
From the site: Tuesday–Saturday noon–10 p.m., Sunday noon–8 p.m., closed Monday. Tonight that means you still have a window.
The wine store page posts mix-and-match bottle discounts: 5% off six or more, 10% off twelve or more. Custom orders are on the table if the exact bottle is not on the shelf; they say most of those land within about a week.
Call 941-355-4718 if you want to confirm a pour is still up before you park on Main.
The wine note
A wine bar that also sells the bottle is doing both halves of the job. The glass is the sample size. The shelf is the homework. Lakewood Ranch already has enough places where you only get one of those.
