Free Country Music on the Bayfront at 6. Bring a Chair.
Sundays at The Bay brings Florida country artist Jesse Daniels to The Oval at 6 p.m. Free. Pets on a leash. Parking is the real RSVP.
Sarasota has a park on the bay that throws free concerts on Sundays and somehow still finds parking spots for people who show up with a folding chair and optimism.
Tonight is one of those Sundays. Sundays at The Bay features Florida country artist Jesse Daniels from 6 to 7 p.m. at The Oval at The Bay, 1055 Blvd of the Arts. Admission is free. The series runs every Sunday with a rotating local performer, which is the kind of civic habit more towns should copy.
Who is playing
Per The Bay's event page, Daniels is an independent Florida country artist known for singles like It Does, The Sermon, and If The Devil Died Tomorrow. Southern soul, honest storytelling, no cover charge. You can also grab a free ticket reminder on Eventbrite if you like calendar apps more than memory.
This one sits inside The Bay's "One Park FOUR All" fourth-anniversary stretch — a month of 70-plus free events marking the park's October 2022 opening. Four years in, they are still giving music away on a Sunday.
The honest Sunday logistics
Free parking is first-come in front of the Van Wezel (777 N. Tamiami Trail), Municipal Auditorium, Blue Pagoda (655 N. Tamiami Trail), along the north side of Blvd of the Arts, and in the Rosemary District. Skip the south side of Blvd of the Arts and the Sarasota Orchestra lots, per The Bay.
Well-behaved pets on a leash up to six feet are welcome outdoors. You clean up. Rain moves the show to the Sarasota Garden Club at 1131 Blvd of the Arts; check The Bay's calendar, Eventbrite, Facebook, or Instagram up to an hour before start.
I will be the one who said "just for one song" and somehow stays through the whole hour because the bay looks better with a soundtrack.
— Sandy
