From the release desk
- SCSO: Warned that scammers are spoofing the phone numbers of the Sheriff's Office victim advocates to ask residents for money. The agency says to hang up and verify any such call through its main line, 941-861-5800. News release 26-054, Oct. 15
Notes from the desk
The scanner did most of its talking before eleven, then settled into the kind of quiet where you can hear the dashboard clock. I topped off the mug at one and it was still warm at three, which counts as a personal best.
