Four Meetups Between Now and Next Saturday

A bike ride to Coquina Beach Market, a pool bash at Golden Host, improv at FST, and a Parrish board-game night — four Meetup.com options if your weekend still looks like a blank calendar.

Thursday hit and the weekend still has that blank look. Meetup.com does not. Here are four that are actually social — not a webinar with a name tag.

Friday: pedals, breakfast, market

SWFL Bikes and Hikes rolls out of Warner's Bayou Boat Ramp in Bradenton at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2 for a ~27-mile round trip to the Coquina Beach Market seasonal reopen. Breakfast at the beach cafe, a market wander, then back through Holmes Beach and maybe a short Robinson Preserve loop. Social pace, not a race — but you do need the legs for four bridges and enough water that you do not become a cautionary tale.

Saturday afternoon: summer refuses to leave

Suncoast Social (20s/30s) is throwing an End of Summer Bash at the Golden Host Resort, 4675 N Tamiami Trail, Saturday, Oct. 3, 3–9 p.m. Pool, DJs, tropical dress code optional, snacks on site, after-party at Bahi Hut Tiki when the pool wraps. Tickets are required through their site — the Meetup page has the details. If October is already acting like November, this group did not get the memo.

Saturday night: laugh at strangers' suggestions

Same night, Sarasota Improv Comedy Meetup points you at Florida Studio Theatre's weekly improv at 7:30 p.m. in Bowne's Lab (1265 First Street). Tickets run about $12–$15 on the FST site. You sit. They invent a show. Someone in the third row will yell something unhelpful. That is the point.

Next Saturday: dice in Parrish

If this weekend is already booked, It's All Fun & Games hosts a Parrish (Bradenton) Game Night on Saturday, Oct. 10, 5–9 p.m. at Hawk's House in North River Ranch — cooperative, worker-placement, and builder games, meet-and-greet first, bring snacks if you want. Private home, so RSVP on Meetup and be a decent guest.

I am not promising you a new best friend. I am promising the couch will still be there when you get back.
