It's Over. Missouri Embarrassed Our Gators. The Night Slate Is Final.

Final: No. 25 Missouri beat No. 8 Florida 45-17. Miami crushed Clemson, BYU edged TCU, and the rest of Saturday's ranked night games are in the books with the pregame lines.

I am not going to dress this up. No. 8 Florida lost 45-17 to No. 25 Missouri in Columbia, and for a lot of us in Florida that is the only score that mattered tonight. This is our team down here. Weddings, funerals, group chats that have not updated their name since 2019. Missouri put 45 on the board and left the Gators with a long ride home and a short list of excuses.

The afternoon and early evening results are already in our earlier Saturday recap. This one is the closer: Florida's final, the night games, and the pregame lines they were playing against. Scores are from the ESPN college football scoreboard for Saturday, Oct. 3. AP Top 25 only. Nothing invented. Every game below is final.

Florida, then the dumpster

Final: No. 25 Missouri 45, No. 8 Florida 17.

Florida walked into Columbia as a road favorite and walked out down 28. Pregame line (DraftKings via ESPN): Florida −5.5 at Missouri, O/U 57.5. The favorite did not cover. The favorite did not compete. Missouri kept scoring. Florida kept answering with silence. That is a statement loss, and the statement is ugly.

Barry Cunningham posted a clip that feels about right for the mood: a real alligator climbing into a dumpster. It looks a lot like how Florida's night ended. Credit where it is due — Barry caught the energy without needing a press conference.

Watch on X if the player does not load. Follow @barrycunningham — he is good at finding the clip you did not know you needed.

There is no spin that makes 45-17 look better. Missouri was better on Saturday. Florida fans will still show up next week. That loyalty is why this one sits in the gut.

Night games, finally final

Everything that was still live in the earlier recap is done. Pregame lines are DraftKings via ESPN: favorite, spread, over/under at kickoff. Information only.

  • Final: No. 4 Miami 41, Clemson 13 — Miami −14 at Clemson, O/U 49.5. Two-touchdown road favorite. Covered it like rent was due.
  • Final: No. 10 BYU 17, TCU 10 — BYU −5.5 at TCU, O/U 48.5. Tight, ugly, and the favorite got out with the win.
  • Final: No. 12 Texas Tech 29, Colorado 7 — Texas Tech −13.5 at Colorado, O/U 50.5. Boulder went quiet. The Red Raiders did not.
  • Final: No. 18 USC 25, Washington 21 — USC −7.5 vs. Washington, O/U 58.5. Home favorite held on. Four points. Not a cruise.
  • Final: No. 22 Boise State 37, Utah State 18 — Boise State −19.5 vs. Utah State, O/U 50.5. Broncos did the Broncos thing at home.
  • Final: No. 11 LSU 63, McNeese 14 — LSU −53.5 vs. McNeese, O/U 62.5. Exhibition scoreboard. Tigers still had to run it out.
  • Final: No. 6 Indiana 47, Rutgers 15 — Indiana −24.5 at Rutgers, O/U 56.5. Road favorite. No trap. No drama.

Nobody on this night slate was still live when this posted. The remote can go dark.

What we already covered

Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Houston, SMU, Kentucky — those finals are in the Saturday recap from earlier tonight. Rankings: AP Top 25. Scoreboard: ESPN.

For Florida fans in Sarasota, Bradenton, and everywhere the Gators still mean something: sleep if you can. Tomorrow the film will be worse than the scoreboard.
