Sunglasses Are Not an Accessory in Sarasota. They Are Infrastructure.
A TikTok creator shows her three-pair SOJOS rotation for fall, and we make a short argument that on the Suncoast sunglasses are less a trend than a daily requirement.
Fall arrives in Sarasota as a rumor. The National Weather Service's long-term normals put an October average high at 86.3 degrees here, and the January average high is still 72.5. The sun does not clock out for the season, so neither do the sunglasses.
That is the context for a TikTok from @_teagan_leigh_, titled "My Sunglass Rotation for Fall 2026."

The rotation
Her rule is simple: she will not spend $200 or $300 on sunglasses she might lose or break. Every pair she owns, she says, is from SOJOS, the kind of everyday find that makes a rotation of several pairs easy to keep up. Her caption points followers to a SOJOS code, so the savings are right there for anyone who wants to shop her picks.
Three pairs make the cut:
- Skinny gold ovals with dark brown lenses. Her description is "very cool girl, minimalistic." She is right.
- Thick tortoiseshell rectangles with orange-tinted lenses. "Librarian glasses but sunglasses," she says. The library is flattered.
- Oversized, translucent blush-tan aviators with a small gold star on each temple. She wears them with flare jeans for the '70s western look she says is trending this fall.
Why this matters here
SOJOS is a brand that says it is built around affordable, stylish sunglasses. Fine. The better point is that in Sarasota a second and third pair are practical. One lives in the car, one in the beach bag, one on the boat, where it will eventually be donated to the Gulf.
Sunglasses are also the whole outfit at an afternoon patio table on Main Street, a stroll around St. Armands Circle, or a walk to the water at Siesta Key. They are the one piece you wear from the first coffee to the last sunset. Pick frames you can wear in all of those places, and keep the rest of the look simple.
Frames are the easy part. Remember where you left them.
